Another Great Zombie Book!

Dead Tide

I am currently reading Dead Tide by Stephen North.  This is a really good book.  For $5.99 on my Kindle app it’s a GREAT book!

This is a fast read.  The apocalypse is happening as you read.  So not as “post apocalyptic” as I usually like, but still great all the same.

If you like zombies, and/or apocalypse books, this will pleasantly surprise you.

Sure there are the clichés and tough guy/creepy non zombie guy, but hey.. what would a zombie book be without them.

This is written very well.  I was reading another one called The Risen Dawning by Marie F Crow, but it got WAAY too wordy for me.  It was like a zombie Twilight.. no, no, no.  I’m sure it’s good, I just can’t handle it.  I want my zombies raw, and the people even more raw.

Give it a sample read.  I bought it before my sample ran out, that’s how much I liked it.

The character’s are likeable, and some you just want to strangle them yourself, which is a great character if you ask me.  If the character ACTUALLY pisses you off, then the writer hit the nail on the head.

I’m not finished yet, only at 23% of the book, but I have to force myself to put it down so I sleep.

It’s definitely an all “nighter”!

Happy zombie reading!

I Found A Pretty Good Zombie Movie!..Kinda

zombies

I love horror movies in general.  When I was little, around 5, a lady named Judy used to take care of me.  Her, her mother Ann and her brother Sunny.  They lived behind us and were my saviors for many years.

Well, Judy LOVED horror movies.  So at the tender age of 5, she would get a bowl of popcorn, plop me on her lap and throw The Omen in for us to watch.  I loved it.  Amityville Horror, Psycho, all of the good classics, and some of the not so good B-movie ones we all love.

For some reason this didn’t twist me, we just bonded and had a good time.  I know at that age I knew this stuff wasn’t real and I enjoyed a good scare.  She liked the fact we didn’t have to watch Sesame Street and I liked that I got to watch stuff I could never watch at home.  It was our little secret.

Needless to say my hunger for good horror still grows.  I have watched EVERYTHING.  Zombie movies are new to me the last 4 years or so.  So when I find a good one I tell MJ, who introduced me to them.

It’s called Extinction GMO Chronicles.  The acting isn’t stellar, but I like the twist on the disease and the zombies just keep morphing during the movie.  It is long but entertaining.  I really liked this.  3 stars isn’t bad for a zombie movie.

Other than that I haven’t found another one since Dawn Of The Dead, and Zombieland that I find to be great.  Extinction isn’t GREAT, but it doesn’t suck either, so it’s worth the watch.

I Wish Moving Was Like Playing Animal Crossing

http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Crossing-Wild-World-Nintendo-DS/dp/B0009Z3MQK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1363877844&sr=8-3&keywords=animal+crossingAnimal Crossing is a super fun and super addicting game on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.  In college, I used to sit playing this game on my DS while waiting for my class to start.  I was in my early 30s, so, yeah, I’d get weird looks.

Anyway, my son made this comment the other day.  And I couldn’t agree more.  I’m at that packing-point right now where it’s all just random crap I have to pack.  I hate it.

In Animal Crossing, you get to buy furniture and decorate your own house.  The ultra cool thing that I wish was for real:

The furniture you pick up turns into a leaf and you shove it in your pocket.

I wish I was only moving a bunch of leaves in my pockets.

Anyone else hate the moving process as much as I do?
