Another Great Zombie Book!

Dead Tide

I am currently reading Dead Tide by Stephen North.  This is a really good book.  For $5.99 on my Kindle app it’s a GREAT book!

This is a fast read.  The apocalypse is happening as you read.  So not as “post apocalyptic” as I usually like, but still great all the same.

If you like zombies, and/or apocalypse books, this will pleasantly surprise you.

Sure there are the clichés and tough guy/creepy non zombie guy, but hey.. what would a zombie book be without them.

This is written very well.  I was reading another one called The Risen Dawning by Marie F Crow, but it got WAAY too wordy for me.  It was like a zombie Twilight.. no, no, no.  I’m sure it’s good, I just can’t handle it.  I want my zombies raw, and the people even more raw.

Give it a sample read.  I bought it before my sample ran out, that’s how much I liked it.

The character’s are likeable, and some you just want to strangle them yourself, which is a great character if you ask me.  If the character ACTUALLY pisses you off, then the writer hit the nail on the head.

I’m not finished yet, only at 23% of the book, but I have to force myself to put it down so I sleep.

It’s definitely an all “nighter”!

Happy zombie reading!

Read My Book Next! No, Read Mine!

The Beyonders by Brandon MullI finished my book a few days ago and tried to start a new one.  I started reading The Beyonders by Brandon Mull, and, while I don’t mind reading kids’ books, I just wasn’t in the mood and couldn’t get into it.

A Memory Of Light by Jordan and Sanderson

I don’t know what I’m in the mood for.   I preordered A Memory Of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson and was super excited when I received it a few weeks ago.  Now I look at it, and I don’t even want to bother with it yet.  You should see the size of this thing.  Hardback and 909 pages.  Okay, so it’s not as bad as King’s Under The Dome at 1074 pages but still.

Shattered Hourglass by J.L. Bourne

I haven’t been in the mood for any zombie books lately either.  I’ve had the newest J.L. Bourne (Day By Day Armageddon: Shattered Hourglass) for quite some time sitting on my bookshelf staring at me.  It’s the third in a series, and I read the first two books years ago, so I would have to reread them.  Bleh.  I don’t feel like it.

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Then my daughter wants me to read her book series that she just finished:  The Giver Quartet by Lois Lowry.  She got the fourth, and last, book in the series for Christmas and loved it.

Fearless By Eric Blehm

My husband has been bugging me to read his book that I got him for Christmas: Fearless by Eric Blehm.

My son is the only one who isn’t pestering me to read something, and he’s usually the one creating a huge pile of books for me to read.

Plus, I have a bookshelf full of other books of my own that I have yet to read.

The Way Of Kings by Brandon SandersonThe Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

What I really want to read is the second book in the Stormlight Archives series by Brandon Sanderson or the third book in the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss.  Amazing books.  Unfortunately, those books are not even up for preorder on Amazon.

Monster Blood Tattoo by D.M. Cornish

I don’t even think (though I still hold out hope) that there will ever be a fourth Monster Blood Tattoo.

So what should I read next?

What are you watching, reading, and playing?

Yesterday, I was supposed to write about something natural and homemade.  My brain has been kind of out-of-whack lately, and I’m waiting for it to get into gear.

Today, I am supposed to write about a movie, book, game, or TV show.

How about a list of what I’m reading, watching, and playing?  That’s easy enough.  Maybe I’ll get some comments.

A Darkness At Sethanon (Volume 4 of the Riftwar Saga) by Raymond E. Feist

Watching with my oldest daughter when the toddler goes to bed:

Heroes reruns on Amazon

Once Upon A Time on HuluPlus

The most recent movie I’ve seen is Prometheus.  We bought it for Christmas.  Wow.  Awesome movie if you love the Alien movies, but it leaves more questions than answers.

Playing on my DS:

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

My teens got me the DS game Adventure Time: Hey Ice King!  Why’d you steal our garbage?! for Christmas.  I finished it in less than a week.  Extremely entertaining.  Reminded me of the old Zelda games.

So what are you reading, watching, or playing this week?
